Osteopathy is a ‘whole body’ system of manual therapy that facilitates healing by focusing on how the musculoskeletal system, nerves, circulation and internal organs function as a unit.

The rational treatment is based on the osteopathic principles:

  • ‘The human being is a dynamic unit of function’

  • ‘The body possesses self-regulatory mechanisms that are self-healing in nature’

  • ‘Structure and function are interrelated at all levels’

In health, there is no immobility or pain;

there is only a balance between

the structure of the body and the way it functions.

Osteopathy is safe and gentle enough to treat people of any age, from newborns, young children, through to the elderly.

The rational treatment is based on the osteopathic principles:

  • ‘The human being is a dynamic unit of function’

  • ‘The body possesses self-regulatory mechanisms that are self-healing in nature’

  • ‘Structure and function are interrelated at all levels’

Kia Ora Taranaki,

I’m Giulia and I moved to Taranaki in January 2026 to combine my love for surfing and ocean swimming with my passion for helping people return to better health through osteopathic care.

I have four years of experience working in a busy clinic in Wellington, where I supported patients with a wide range of health needs, discovering a particular passion for babies and women’s health.

I completed five years of full-time osteopathic training in Italy at the International College of Osteopathic Medicine and hold a Master of Osteopathic Medicine from Kingston University in the UK (July 2021).

Giulia Osteopathy - Giulia Buczkowsky

I believe that everyone deserves to have optimal healthcare

Osteopathy is about improving the motion of your body, restoring the function and the natural self-healing.

Life is motion

The human body is designed for and by motion.

There is no need to describe its motion relative to the environment, such as crawling, walking, running, swimming and so on.

The motion of the eyes in reading as they smoothly pass from left to right along the line of print, or coordinate with the hand and fingers in writing or drawing, or coordinate with the whole body in kicking a ball, riding a cycle, or skimming the waves on a surfboard.

The movement of breathing is not only manifest in the rib cage, the diaphragm and the lungs, but can be detected with trained hands or suitable instruments in every part of the body from the head to the toes. The rhythmic contractions of the heart are transmitted by the circulatory system to the periphery of the body. The peristalsis of the digestive tract carries food from the mouth through all the chemical operations of the digestive system cell, every organ, every part of the body is in constant rhythmic motion as long as life persists.

Life is motion.

''Osteopathic philosophy considers body, motion, and mind blended with, and in travel

with the harmony of nature’s truths''.

(Dr A T Still, 1899)
